We Are A Family

Our community is full of individuals that have come together to help one another, woven into one diverse family. This week we wanted to take an opportunity to highlight one of our wonderful volunteers, Emily. She is a vibrant member of our community and comes out to serve those that have fallen on hard times, something Emily knows a lot about. 

Early in Emily’s life, she lost her personal hero, her father. It had a profound effect on her and left her in a vulnerable position. She eventually found herself living on the streets with very few options. She encountered the City Relief community and we were able to help her secure a spot in a women’s shelter. She describes that as the moment she decided to turn her life around, and she did just that. Emily now lives in a home of her own and has chosen to remain a part of the City Relief community. She is now able to point people to the very same resources that helped change her life. 

When asked, Emily said that her favorite part of City Relief is that it is truly a family environment, and we couldn’t agree more. We are grateful that each of you has chosen to join us on this journey and pray that you always know you have a place in this family.
